An
independent taxi service provider licensed by Mendip District Council (Plate No 154) , I have been
operating in the Frome area of Somerset since the
summer of
2007.
My aim, through the business, has always been to not only provide personal transportation from A to B in common with any other taxi service in Frome, but to do so with the highest levels of professionalism, flexibility and communication.
The vehicle itself is a sign-written Seat Alhambra 1.9SE TDi which is licensed to carry up to six passengers. I also have a trailer to accommodate a full complement of luggage whenever required. By special arrangement I am also able to re-arrange the seating to accommodate large or bulky items. The vehicle is serviced every 10,000 miles and well maintained in every respect. I run hands-free telephone technology at all times. Your safety and comfort are my peace of mind. My reputation is your guarantee of excellent service.
From the very beginning, it has always been my policy to provide my customers with the best possible standards of punctuality, comfort and assistance. Local, cross town work is generally charged at rates set by Mendip District Council via a calibrated meter fitted to Licensed Hackney Carriages as required by law. For out of town journeys I am happy to quote for individual requirements. Aside from rank work, I am available for pre-booking, also at highly competitive rates for other work such as:
Airport and Seaport transfers.
Discounts are available for
pre-paid return bookings.
I am happy to quote for customers requiring regular visits for treatment in hospital, to include waiting time and the return journey at extremely competitive rates.
Transportation to and from local railway stations including Bath Spa, Bristol Temple Meads, Westbury, Warminster and of course Frome.
Day tours of the surrounding area, tailored to your own specific requirements.
Shopping, theatre, museum and other cultural outings e.g. to the West End of London or other major cities (these can be particularly cost effective if split 6 ways).
Subject to prior arrangement, I am available 24hrs a
day. If you have a query regarding any particular type of journey that
is not listed, please feel free to call or make contact by any of the
methods
given and I will be happy to discuss your requirements.

These terms and conditions constitute an Agreement concerning the provision of a taxi/private hire service between you and Highpoint Taxi Services. Use of the Service indicates your unconditional acceptance of the Terms and Conditions set out in this Agreement which apply equally to all bookings howsoever made whether verbally, in writing or via any electronic means.
1. Definitions
“Highpoint Taxi Services” means the business run as Highpoint Taxi Services by Roger Traynor of 60 Mendip Drive, Frome, Somerset, BA11 2HU.
“You” and “Your” means any individual, company or other business who places a booking with Highpoint Taxi Services by any means including but not restricted to those given above.
2. Bookings
a) You must allow sufficient time when booking your taxi to allow for any critical deadlines (e.g. medical appointments/airport check-in or anything else timetable dependent),and allow for any potential for delays caused by traffic/weather conditions.
Highpoint Taxi Services will not be held responsible for any delay resulting from:
i) Your failure to allow enough time to reach your destination
ii) Your failure to allow for any loading required prior to departure or
iii) Any passenger(s) not being ready for collection at the appointed time.
b) You must request a car of an appropriate size for the number of passengers and luggage. As an indicator, one full sized suitcase and one overhead locker sized item of hand baggage would normally apply per person for an airport run. Highpoint Taxi Services cannot guarantee to carry excessive amounts of luggage and will not be held responsible for the costs or arrangements for the alternative transportation of excessive baggage not declared at the time of the booking. If you need to transport a wheelchair, skis or any other bulky item please specify this at the time of your initial enquiry.
3. Prices & Payment
a) Highpoint Taxi Services will provide you with a quotation based on the information supplied by you. Highpoint Taxi Services may amend the quotation at any time if there is any material change to the information initially provided such as the number of passengers, collection/drop-off points or any other variations to the original route/itinerary.
b) All journeys originating at an airport (which are not return journeys where Highpoint Taxi Services have taken you on the outward leg of the journey) may be required to be prepaid in full at the business owner's discretion. The quotation will include a 45 minute waiting period after the advertised landing time and the cost of car parking. Highpoint Taxi Services reserves the right to charge for waiting at its standard rates (£1.00 per 5 minute period elapsed or part thereof) after the initial 45 minute period has expired, although this may be waived where any excessive delay is clearly beyond your control. Highpoint Taxi Services will endeavour to check for flight delays before the driver arrives at the airport but shall be under no obligation to do so.
c) Payment can be made by cash or cheque with a valid guarantee card. Payment by cheque must be made at least 7 days before the date of travel.
d) Unless previously negotiated, all journeys undertaken will be priced at the metered rate according to the calibrated and sealed device fitted to the taxi. The current Mendip District Council tariff is displayed clearly on the dashboard of the vehicle. Highpoint Taxi Services will grant 10 minutes waiting time, free of charge, from the booked time for any local pick-up. Thereafter, the meter will run at the applicable rate from that moment to the conclusion of the journey.
4. The Service
a) You shall be responsible for the behaviour of all the passengers in the car during the journey. You may be charged an amount of not less than £50 and not exceeding £100, at the driver's discretion, to cover cleaning costs in the event of the vehicle being soiled by any passenger to any extent.
b) Smoking in the vehicle is not permitted. Consumption of food and/or drink may be permitted at the discretion of the driver however the soiling charge in a) above will still apply in the event of spillages etc.
c) All children travelling during the journey should be restrained in a manner appropriate to their age, weight and height. Suitable child seats should wherever possible be supplied and fitted by the child’s parents. Such seats may be retained by the driver for use on the return journey but this arrangement is offered at the parent's own risk.
d) Please note that a child, no matter what age, counts as one passenger.
e) Highpoint Taxi Services will not carry more passengers than its insurance or licensing allows.
f) Any preferred route is to be specified at the time of the booking, or at the latest notified to the driver before commencement of the journey. Highpoint Taxi Services reserve the right to amend the quotation in the light of any additional distance caused by such a change upon pick-up.
g) Highpoint Taxi Services reserve the right to apply either the appropriate metered rate or a fixed charge being either equal to or less than the value of the former, to cover the cost of any distance necessarily travelled in order to collect you from your required pick-up point for onward transporation to your intended destination. Any intention to apply such charge or application of the meter in these circumstances will be notified and agreed with you before the booking is accepted.
h) The carriage of any animal is at the discretion of the driver who is under no obligation to comply with any such request (bona fide guide dogs excepted). You will be held entirely responsible for every aspect of the animal's comfort, safety and well-being. The soiling charge at 4a) above will be applied if necessary.
5. Cancellations
If you need to cancel your booking, please contact Highpoint Taxi Services as soon as possible. If you cancel a booking once the vehicle is en-route a charge may be incurred. Any such charge will be based on the distance/time that the driver has travelled/spent prior to the point of cancellation. As a general rule when collecting from airports, the vehicle will be dispatched up to two hours prior to the advertised flight arrival time.
6. Liability
a) Highpoint Taxi Services shall seek by all reasonable means to get you to your destination on time, but shall not be held liable for any loss due to delays caused by road or traffic conditions beyond its control on the journey. No refunds will be given if the journey is terminated in this manner part way through the hire, neither will any responsibility be accepted for the completion of the remaining part of any journey terminated under this condition, any consequences arising from any failure to complete the journey, nor the safety or security of the passengers/luggage required to vacate under this condition.
b) Highpoint Taxi Services reserves the right to decline any booking attempted or placed by or on behalf of any person who has on any past occasion refused or neglected to pay any monies due or has exhibited threatening, abusive, violent, insulting or otherwise unacceptable behaviour including any breach of trust, assessed as such by the driver on that previous occasion.
